Frequently Asked Questions

How long should you keep following up with a prospect who says not right now?

Longer than feels comfortable. When Brandon Leibowitz was starting out in SEO, he called a local pizza place. The owner wasn't interested, but told him to keep reaching out. So he did, every single month. They even met in person a few times and nothing came of it. About a year in, he gave up and quit calling. That's when they reached out to him and signed. In his words, "you gotta stay persistent and stay on top of it."

Why do inbound leads close easier than cold outreach?

Cold outreach interrupts people who aren't looking for you. Brandon has run his business since 2007, and cold calling never really worked for him. Four or five years in, still working full time at an ad agency, he started teaching SEO classes, ranking his own site and adding lead magnets and free strategy sessions. Inbound changed everything. When someone reaches out first, he says, "They already know who I am." They've seen your content, so the trust is already built before you ever talk.

Does AI-written content hurt your Google rankings?

Brandon says Google stopped caring who writes it, because even Google can't tell the difference anymore. He's run his own writing through AI checkers and been told a robot wrote it. What Google does care about is whether it's accurate and helpful. So he never pastes AI copy word for word. He has it build an outline, personalizes that, has it write to the outline, then edits and checks it again for hallucinations. If everyone types the same prompt, everyone ends up with the same post.

How do you get website traffic without spending thousands on ads?

Brandon's answer is guest podcasting. He's been on over 300 shows since 2020. Every episode puts you on someone else's website, and that backlink helps you rank on Google and in the AI tools. You also walk away with a conversation you can cut into 10 clips and turn into a blog post. The overhead is a microphone, a camera and maybe some lighting. Compare that to ads... our Meta cost per click went from $1.85 to $2.45 overnight, and nothing in our ads had changed.
