"Only you can make the choice to show up every day and work harder than everyone else around you."

Few things are more powerful than the energy of a new day filled with opportunities. Okay, so maybe yesterday sucked. Maybe yesterday was the absolute worst day of your life. All the things that could go wrong went wrong. It was Murphy's Law all day long.

But you're awake, you're here, and you're blessed with another day of opportunity. So let's really embrace that. Because here's the blessing: if yesterday was the worst day of your life, that means today has to be better. Let's make today better unless you really want to go bad and just keep digging that hole deeper.

Taking Control of Your Life: Focusing on Gratitude

Taking Control of Your Life: Focusing on Gratitude

So, what can we do? We can focus on gratitude. Let's be grateful you're alive, you're here, and you're listening to this podcast. You probably have internet access, you probably have a phone, right?

You have food and a place to live. So there are a lot of things to be grateful for. That's number one. Number two, whatever your goals are, we can start taking the steps to go after them. Maybe your goal is to not be out of shape and overweight anymore. So the first thing you can do is start taking a walk.

Taking Control of Your Life: Starting Your Health Journey

When I went on my initial health journey, I was almost 300 pounds and very unhappy and unfulfilled in life. I went on walks. I didn't like to run or do cardio; it wasn't my thing at the time. Working out wasn't something I wanted to do, but I knew I didn't want to be unhealthy and unhappy with the way I looked.

So I started taking walks, and over time, those walks every morning when I woke up gave me an opportunity to learn. Now I'd wake up, focus on gratitude because I'd have another new day blessed with opportunity, and go on my walk. I'd listen to podcasts, books, YouTube videos, and motivational content. This changed my mindset.

Taking Control of Your Life: Embrace the Opportunity

Taking Control of Your Life: Embrace the Opportunity

So, when you're here in this moment, you got to look at the fact that you have an entire day's worth of opportunity ahead of you if you're willing to go after it, if you're willing to do the work.

No matter what happened yesterday, the day before, the week before, or months ago, if you're still living in the past, you're here today. You're blessed with opportunity. Let's not forget the energy that comes from knowing you have a whole day of opportunity at your fingertips.
