"We are great at justifying our decisions."

The biggest issues in our lives stem from our inability, to be honest with ourselves about our decisions. That's just how it is, and I know this because I'm speaking from the heart. I'm telling you, I know this. I've been this person who wasn't being honest about my decisions, right?

And it's one of those things you don't realize now. But when you look back over your experiences in life, all the major changes you had were those situations leading up to the moment that you made that big decision, right?

You took that giant leap, going all in on yourself. It led up to you or you led up to that situation because you weren't being honest with yourself about the decisions you made.

How To Be Honest With Yourself: Harnessing Energy for Positive Results

You stay in shape by deciding to work out and eat healthy. You got out of shape by justifying eating the meals and drinking the drinks that brought you to that situation. That's how it works, right? "Well, you know, I got to eat this meal because I've got this event and this is a special celebration.

And so, you know, this person, I got to go and have drinks with them because that's just the way that this works, and that's kind of how this relationship is. And if I don't have these drinks, they're going to give me a hard time, and you know that might affect our relationship, or it might, you know, affect our business."

You justify, right? You make these decisions and take these actions, but you're not honest with yourself about how you truly feel.

How To Be Honest With Yourself: Pursuing Meaningful Conversations

No, I don't want to have drinks. I want to go and talk about what we want to discuss and be honest, but I don't want to feel like tomorrow. I don't want to feel like my clothes don't fit anymore when I look in the mirror, and I'm not feel like the greatest version of myself.

That's not what you want out of life. So, you have to learn to be honest with yourself about your decisions because you know right now there may be something in your life that you're not happy with the results you're getting.

And if you subjectively look at the decisions you're making and the actions that you're taking, are they what you want? Are they what they should be? Are they the things that will get you the result that you're looking for?

Because if they're not, is it time to start being honest with yourself so that you can get what you want? Because, again, we are great at justifying our decisions. That's how humans work.

We will find the craziest to make up for our decisions to cover ourselves. But if you are honest with yourself, are you doing what you need to do to get what you want out of life?
